Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010 in the United States of America) was an American actor and singer. She was a part of films of the 1940s and 1950s[2] in addition to in television shows during the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara was her professional name. She was offered an offer from Columbia Pictures [citation needed]. She worked on comedy shorts and "B" films at the studio. Then, she was changed to Adele Mara. One of Mara's first roles was as a receptionist on the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks as well as Leslie Brooks portrayed the sisters as characters played by Rita Hayworth in Fred Astaire's film You Were Never Lovelier. She portrays the character Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of an innocently accused and freed prisoner. After her Columbia contract ended and she was transferred to Republic Pictures, where she became a fixture in the studio's westerns and outdoor adventures. The actress appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch with John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love partner), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
